Karen Lavieri is a dual board-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended Johnston Community College to obtain an associate degree in nursing and completed her bachelor’s degree at Winston Salem State University. She later obtained her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner and post master’s certification in psychiatric mental health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Karen is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
Karen started her medical career in primary care and after treating individuals with their medical and emotional concerns she realized that healing and wellness is her passion. She has experience in treating a variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
Over the course of 20 years in healthcare, she worked in outpatient, long-term, and acute care. As a National Health Service Corps Scholar, she has served as a primary care provider in Eastern North Carolina in the community rural health setting and has cared for vulnerable populations including veterans, migrant farm workers, and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups.
